about

This song is the second of three movements i composed for the ballet "Octavo" by Gina Patterson, it was staged at Richmond Ballet in March of 2011. It transitions from the sounds of the previous movement with a bed of field recording from inside a closed loading dock, and like the beginning of the first movement, the song is rooted by a single instrument and a delay effect. In this case it's layers of looped dulcitar, slowly building up and then dulcitar drum sounds, a snare drum recorded in a pretty big room, and some good old fuzz bass come in to fill out the composition.
